Centering Prayer

Another method is taught through World Community of Christian Meditation. This is a "mantra" practice which you may find helpful. http://www.wccm.org
I've been a practitioner of both these methods and find the practice to be invaluable on the spiritual journey as well as for those who would recognise the vital link between contemplation and action.
